Just a lot of bad stuff at home. I was going to stay home, but I thought it was best to come. I wish I could have taken the week off, gone to Rio over to my friend's, or anywhere else, but I cant afford anything right now
Sorry annie. :( I can sympathize, I have been in that situation too.
@BUG I have driven both the east coast and west coast of the US almost from top to bottom! (Actually from one border to the other on the west, but on the east I have not done the last hundred miles from either end.)
A few years ago I was laid off work a month before my birthday when they closed my company's office in California and merged it with a similar one in Kansas City. (They offered all of us jobs at the KC office but most of us didn't take it.) So that year, while I had time to go on whatever birthday trip I wanted, I couldn't afford to.
So I spent the day relaxing at home, and then made some sandwiches, packed some drinks, and drove east into the desert east of San Diego. The drive was interesting, since it was just a few months after some major fires, and I was driving through devastated forest land -- still the torched remains of trees everywhere. When I got out to the desert plateau, it was getting dark, so I found a place on a quiet dirt road to park my car, eat my dinner, and watch the sun go down over the mountains, and just THINK about the past year, and my goals for the next. I stayed and watched the stars come out, and it was just a glorious sight, seeing the clear night sky away from the lights of the city. It was not until midnight that I finally drove home and felt much better about where I wanted my life to go from there.

And why not!? I'm sorry to hear it...
I used to take off the entire week of my birthday and go drive places I had never been before. I drove 2000km up to Canada one year. :)
